Overview:

Our client is currently looking to strengthen its senior commercial team. They specialise in high performance environmental analysis products (Meters, Testing kits) and solutions (Lab services), operating on a Global scale with an exceptional market reputation they continue to attain growth. The Sales Manager has key responsibility for the overall business development (sales & marketing) growth of the heavy metal analysis product offering throughout the organisation.

PURPOSE:

The Sales Manager will be an all-rounder in terms of marketing, business development and technical capability. The expectation would be circa 20% marketing, 60% business development and 20% product training support, with a high proportion of the available time spent in the field targeting and winning profitable and sustainable business.

Primary Role is to ensure:

  • Agreed projected sales revenue, profit and growth expectations are achieved. 
  • The development of sales in the UK and Hispanic countries (America's etc)
  • This role will require strong links into the marketing and engineering team
  • With the introduction of the new heavy metal analysis technologies it is important that we have a clear understanding of market place pricing & competition and you would have this responsibility.
  • The identification, pursuit and commercialisation of the more immediate profitable sales opportunities.
  • Driving the generation of negotiated 3 year sales plans and ensuring that these, once developed are periodically reviewed.
  • Developing a clear marketing & business development plan for the heavy metal analysis product streams capabilities and products in conjunction with marketing and engineering.
  • Understanding of key competitors and their strategic activity
  • Sales management if you have the right leadership attributes
  • To be part of the senior management team if you possess the right experience

Key Skills & Experience:

Experienced in sales, marketing and business management, and able to demonstrate career successes to date. ideally with a Chemistry qualification and technical experience in environmental test solutions. Excellent Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook skills. Preferably (But not essential), able to speak at least one foreign language (Spanish). Willing to travel internationally as and when required.
