POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As a sales director/general manager you would be expected to formulate and execute a 5 year business plan for our £5 Million turnover business unit, whilst also being a senior individual within our group management structure. The business in question supplies connectors & electro-mechanical components into a whole host of industries that include defence, industrial and transportation etc.
The main facets of the position are to:
- To develop and execute a sales strategy that will ensure double digit growth year on year
- Achieve a sales budget in excess of £5 Million
- Profit & loss responsibility
- Management of 10+ internal & external salespeople
- Develop a strong understanding of our business with a view to constant improvement initiatives
- To strategically plan which potential accounts are primed for growth in the next 5 years
- KPI management and a genuine attention to detail and financial reports
- To help close lucrative project orders
Reporting to the Managing Director
But also liaising with other senior managers internally
REQUIREMENTS:
- The candidate should have atleast 5 years sales management experience
- The ideal individual would be from the connectors or electronics industries etc
- A demonstrable track record of revenue growth is essential
- A mix of business development strategy and sales management attributes are needed for this role
- Aerospace & defence client relationships and contacts are desirable
- Strong analytical skills are also required
- The ability to motivate and galvanise individuals is a pre-requisite
